Chairman of Qatar Petroleum Attends World Future Energy Summit
OREANDA-NEWS. January 28, 2013. H.E. Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al-Sada, Minister of Energy and Industry and Chairman & Managing Director of Qatar Petroleum (QP), is currently on an official trip to the United Arab Emirates to attend the World Future Energy Summit (WFES), reported the press-centre of Qatar Petroleum.
Supported by QP as the gold sponsor, the WFES is regarded as the premier event that is dedicated to advancing future energy, energy efficiency and clean technologies worldwide. Now on its sixth edition, the annual event brings together top government officials, industry leaders, policymakers, investors and other stakeholders for an in-depth discussion of the issues and challenges shaping the future of renewable energy.
As part of his participation in the event, H.E. Dr. Al-Sada was one of the panelists in a ministerial session entitled “Renewable Energy in an Evolving Global Energy Market.” The session was moderated by Ms. Maria van der Hoevan, Executive Director of the International Energy Agency (IEA).
“We have a clear vision for the future of sustainable growth and prosperity of Qatar. It includes our commitment to the development of renewable energy as an important constituent of our energy mix driven by adequate policy and initiatives factoring in measures like appropriate feed-in tariffs, separation of generation & transmission of energy, green banking and strategic plans for the development of renewable resources,” said H.E. Dr. Al-Sada.
