OREANDA-NEWS. January 30, 2013. By the beginning of the new year the construction of the drainage system and foundation of the building at the site of the new training complex were completed. The construction efforts continue with the installation of utilities: water supply, wastewater and stormwater discharge systems.

Construction of this facility began in the first quarter of 2012. During this period, subsidiaries of the holding finished levelling the area, prepared a foundation pit, set up drainage foundation of the building. 50 percent of the outside water supply and sanitation network have been completed. At the same time, the team is also working on backfilling the foundation pit.Currently, builders are constricting floor structures at the level 0.080 meters and finishing construction of the walls to the ground level. The next stage will see construction of the ground floor of the building: construction of columns and slab concreting at the level + 3.950 m. The building is scheduled to be completed the middle of Q3 2013.

By the end of 2012 a subsidiary of the holding – LLC TITANSTROYSERVIS – spent about 130 million roubles on the construction of the training centre. Today the project employs approximately 50 people, but in the near future the number of employees will increase to 90, as the construction project moves on to construction of technical floor of the building – this will entail work on architectural and planning decisions and provisional decoration of the premises.

According to the project, the new training centre will be a three-story building with a basement. Construction of the facility should be completed in late 2013. The main function of the complex will be training operating crew of the plant, to adapt them to working in various modes of operation. This training complex will improve the reliability of operation and control of the future plant, as well as, of course, improve the professional level of its staff.

Construction of power units of the Leningrad NPP-2 is a part of the “Long-Term Programme of Rosatom Activities (2009-2015)” endorsed by the RF Government Ordinance No. 705 of 20 September 2008. It is the first new construction project in nuclear power development in the Russian Federation after a 20 year break.

The project of Leningrad NPP-2 meets all the international safety requirements. It operates four active safety channels (alternating as a backup means), melt localization device, passive systems for heat removal from reactor containment and steam generators. None of the existing plants in the world feature such configuration of security systems.

Holding TITAN-2 is the largest group of companies in the North-West Region, working in the construction of the most significant facilities for the nuclear power plants and industry.

Its organisations provide a full cycle of construction – from design of project documentation to delivery and commissioning.

Holding TITAN-2 was involved in modernization of full-scale simulators of the first and second stages of the Leningrad NPP.
