OREANDA-NEWS. OJSC KAMAZ plans to revolutionize its line of products, and by 2020 its vehicles will be manufactured with fundamentally new specifications.

By 2020, KAMAZ plans to make a new product at an affordable price using the latest automotive technologies. According to Irek Gumerov, Deputy General Director of OJSC KAMAZ – Director of Development, the company’s main challenge is to create an energy-efficient car. Battery costs are what holds back the development of electric vehicles today, but the question of profitability is expected to be resolved in years to come. It is planned to promote the use of cheap natural gas as a fuel for vehicles and buses, because it is much more advantageous for urban transportation. The company is also developing a remote-control truck that can be used in areas harmful to humans.

This year, OJSC KAMAZ will invest more than five billion roubles in the development of its own production. KAMAZ’s specialists are carefully analyzing all kinds of functional options and developing new energy-efficient and environmental solutions.
