OREANDA-NEWS. April 11, 2013. Minister of Environment and Natural Resources Oleh Proskuryakov is convinced that agreement on distribution of production with American Chevron company for the extraction of shale gas in the west of Ukraine can be signed by June 1 of 2013 on condition that a positive decision of regional councils will be achieved. He announced during a media conference at the Cabinet of Ministers.

According to the head of the Ministry, now this document is on the stage of consultations in ministries and departments. In the aftermath, when all central executive authorities make remarks and propositions, the draft will transfer to the final stage and be submitted for considering by deputies of regional councils. And only after approval by the deputies the draft agreement with Chevron can be ratified.

“I consider it is real to manage to fulfill all this work by June 1 – to sign this deal appears natural on condition of a positive decision made by regional councils,” Oleh Proskuryakov views.
