OREANDA-NEWS. April 15, 2013. Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov has commissioned to organize maximal providing with everything necessary the spring sowing campaign. He emphasized during the meeting of the Government.

The Premier stressed that unfavorable weather conditions posed risks for our agriculture more and more often. Bad weather can lead to reduction of yield in the limits of 10-15%. “Certainly, such losses need to be avoided at the account of technologies and well-organized maintenance of activities,” Mykola Azarov explained.

According to the head of Government in the zone of high risk in the current year happen to be many agricultural enterprises of Rivne, Volyn, Vinnytsya and other regions. Main spring field activities will commence much later than usual. Hence, peculiar meaning is acquired by the speed of carried out works.

“Not just every day, but every hour will have to be used. To maneuver the equipment correctly, to use it more intensively. All these are issues of organization, technical service and uninterrupted supply,” Mykola Azarov added.

The Prime Minister instructed the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food to introduce daily monitoring of technical components of spring sowing campaign and timely use possibilities of the state support and interregional cooperation.

Besides, Mykola Azarov accentuated on the need to protect from water the places of storing means of plant protection, fertilizers, fuel and oil materials and other material resources for the spring field activities.

“Thus far, from the planted 8 million hectares in Ukraine shoots of winter crops are received on practically 100 percent of planted areas. 92% out of this number are in good and satisfactory condition and 8% - in weak and depreciated condition. Regional state administration must maintain constant monitoring of the state of agricultural lands, winter crops and situation on economy objects in agroindustrial complex,” the head of Government stressed.

At this, Mykola Azarov said that the affected regions had to be secured with relevant amount of seeds from the State Reserve Seed Fund.

“Insurance liabilities to agriculturalists who will suffer losses as a result of bad weather must be fulfilled invariably and in full amount – it is a direct responsibility of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Ministry of Finance,” the PM explained.
