OREANDA-NEWS. April 25, 2013. Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe backs signing an Association Agremenet between Ukraine and European Union.

This was declared by the acting President of OSCE PA Wolfgang Grossruck at a meeting with Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov.

“We – and Austrian Parliament in particular – support Ukraine in concluding the Association Agreement with the EU. We highly evaluate the reforms being realized by Ukraine and are grateful to you for paying attention to the recommendations we give. And from the Parliamentary Assembly of the OSCE I want to assure you that we will further support you,” W.Grossruck said. 

He noted that Ukraine is an active OSCE member and thanked to the state for the active position in the course of chairmanship of the Organization.

“I want to thank to Ukraine for its OSCE chairmanship and for the active position it takes,” the acting President said.

In his turn, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov reminded that in order to sign the Association Agreement the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has to approve another series of laws. He assured that the Regions’ Party is ready to constructive cooperation with opposition for their approval. “The European Commission called on all the parliamentary forces to the constructive dialog and we are ready to such dialog with the opposition. As in the course of dialog there appears opportunity to carry out structural reforms,” Mykola Azarov said.

He assured his interlocutors that Ukraine would further pay attention to cooperation with OCSE. 

As was informed, on April 22 co-head of the European Parliament mission, ex-president of Poland Aleksander Kwasniewski called on representatives of all parliamentary factions to join their efforts for approval of Eurointegration laws and underlined that concluding the Association Agreement would not be the victory of victory of the Government and defeat of the opposition, it would be the victory of all Ukrainian people.
