OREANDA-NEWS. May 06, 2013. Ukraine has fulfilled many requirements that were placed in front of it by European Energy Community, but it not received adequate support in addressing key issues in the gas sector. A Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Yuriy Boyko said in an interview to Inter TV channel.

"Ukraine expected much more when it had become a member of the Energy Community. We performed a lot of rules that had been identified, but we did not receive the responses on key issues and we did not received significant assistance from the Energy Community," Yuriy Boyko said.

As an example, he cited the situation when some of EU member states in spite of European energy law refused to allow transit from Europe to Ukraine.

"Ukraine is a full member of the Energy Community, from March last year we have a contract with the German company RWE. So, from the four countries, which were obliged by the rules of the third energy package to pass gas from Europe to our country, pass only one. The other three referred to the technical problems," he said.

Vice Prime Minister said that the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych spoke harshly to the Energy Community due to the lack of support for Ukraine in addressing important issues.
