OREANDA-NEWS. May 31, 2013. The Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service in the Kursk Region (Kursk OFAS Russia) was informed that “Kurskoblnefteproduct” Ltd. paid a fine to the federal budget for violating the antimonopoly law (650,000 Rubles).

In summer 2011, the Commission of Kursk OFAS Russia found that the company violated Article 10 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition” (abusing market dominance) and imposed an administrative fined – 650,000 Rubles. The Commission of the antimonopoly body established the fact of discriminating one of the company’s contractors and of non-uniform granting of applications for supplying oil products under the concluded contracts.

“Kurskoblnefteproduct” Ltd. disagreed with the decision of the Antimonopoly Service and filed a lawsuit. However, the Courts dismissed the claim.

““Kurskoblnefteproduct” Ltd.(a unit of “TNK-BP”) committed the violation (before “TNK-BP” was acquired by “Rosneft” of Russia. Recently (in the past year) Kursk OFAS Russia did not receive any complaints from market participants about actions of the oil monopolist ”, commented the Head of Kursk OFAS Russia, Yuri Komov.
