OREANDA-NEWS. June 03, 2013. During 2013-2014 on the main transit highways will be installed automatic points of weight control. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said this during his visiting of the first automatic station of weight control, which is on the road of national importance Kyiv-Chop in the Kyiv region.

"This is the first station, it is only the beginning of the work that we are planed to do, that is to equip main transit routes for 2013-2014 years with whole set of tools. First of all with system of weight control," Mykola Azarov said.

He noted that in the legislation will be provided a payment of penalties to the Highway Fund for the movement by roads of overloaded vehicle.

Today the Prime Minister personally made sure that more than 80% of large-tonnage vehicles moving ways with exceeding permissible axle load, which leads to rapid destruction of roads.

Mykola Azarov said that appropriate explanatory work will be held with the owners of vehicles carrying loads in excess of normal. According to him, the Ministry of Infrastructure, UkrAutoDor and road police have already identified areas of deployment, where vehicles that move with violations of weighted norms will be overload.

"We will equip areas, which to be appointed for unloading and reloading of vehicles. These platforms will be installed near the gas station, where, as a rule, there are a cafe and shop, which will create favorable conditions for drivers. But we are in this respect act tough, because if we continue improvidently treat our roads, we will stay without them," the Prime Minister said.

Mykola Azarov said that the work station of weight control is extremely effective because it allows, without stopping a vehicle to determine its performance: speed, displacement, axle load. "I see at first-hand that this station is efficient, it allows in real-time to accurately determine all the parameters of cars," the Prime Minister said.

Now in the Code on Administrative Offences for violating passage of heavy vehicles provided fine for drivers in the amount of UAH 510-680. For economic entities - UAH 680-850. For comparison, similar penalties for violations of our neighbors are: Hungary UAH 9830, Poland – UAH 2 289-5 600, United Kingdom – to UAH 60 000.

We recall that during the session of the Government on May 22, Mykola Azarov stressed that the 2013 year must be a turning point on the issue of careful use of roads.
