OREANDA-NEWS. June 03, 2013. A Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Olexandr Vilkul has held an off-site meeting to tackle issues of improvement of quality of potable water at the Vinnytsyaoblvodokanal communal enterprise.

“Upgrade of entreprises, that deal with supply of potable water, overhaul of networks are strategic tasks. With this aim both budget financing is allocated and international financial organizations are attracted. In 2013 the Government has allocated financing for overhaul of 15 pump stations and 110 kilometers of water supply networks,” Olexandr Vilkul said.
 
Introducing of advanced technologies affords to reduce consumption of power energy by water supply enterprises and to raise the quality of drinking water.

Olexandr Vilkul noted that modern laboratories, similar to the one of the Vinnytsyaoblvodokanal, had to operate on enterprises dealing with water supply for the population, so that maximally control the quality of potable water. It is equipped according to the latest standards and is capable to control water quality along 60 showings. 

Moreover, there is held activity in installation of modern pumping aggregates with frequency controllers in water supply and sewer pump stations (in 2012 there were replaced 50 pumping units).

Owing to the introduced measures, summary consumption of power energy by such enterprises of the region only in 2012 shortened by 187 thousand kwh a year in average, or by 1% against 2011 and by 5% againts 2010.

“We have other positive examples of modernization of enterprises of the branch. Including at the account of drawing funds of international financial organizations. For instance, 14 towns in synergy with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) are realizing a project of modernization of water supply systems. General financing makes up USD 140 million,” Olexandr Vilkul has said.

Olexandr Vilkul has set a task to the Ministry of Regional Development and Building to report about the state of implemnetation of the projects at a following collegium’s meeting. “It is necessary to control and ensure other towns could receive experience in realization of such projects,” Olexandr Vilkul added.

One more way of improvement of the quality of potable water in schools, kindergardens and hospitals of towns and regions of Ukraine where necessary appears installation of afterpurification systems. According to the Vice Premier, the State Program of activization of the economic development for 2013-2014 envisages equipping enterprises with 1184 such systems.
