OREANDA-NEWS. The state-owned Belarusian company OAO Belaruskali exported USD 4.962 million worth of potassium chloride to Russia in January-April 2013, up 3.3 times on the year, a source in the profile ministry told.

Belaruskali exported 1.288 million tonnes of potash fertilizers in Jan-Apr 2013, up 28.8% on the year. Potash export proceeds grew by 9% on the year to USD 825.65 million.

Belaruskali’s exports reduced 21.9% on the year in 2012 (in terms of 100% potassium chloride) to 3.668 million tonnes, while export proceeds reduced 21.8% to USD 2.667 billion. The average price grew to USD 727 per tonne in 2012 from USD 713 in 2011.

The state-owned Belarusian company OAO Belaruskali is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of potash fertilizers, employing about 18,440 personnel. It operates the Starobinskoye potash salts deposit and comprises four mine groups, auxiliary shops and support units.

Belaruskali controls 16% of the world’s potash fertilizer market.
