OREANDA-NEWS. Experts of Izhorskiye Zavody, part of OMZ Group, conducted hydrotesting of the hydrocracking reactor manufactured for Novokuibyshevsk refinery, a Rosneft subsidiary.

During hydraulic testing the reactor vessel is filled up with water under pressure of 290 atm (29.42 mPa). To execute this operation, 358.6 m3 of specially prepared water is needed. The goal of hydrotesting is to test the strength of welded constructions and sealing capacity of mechanical joints. Hydraulic testing is one of the final stages of equipment manufacturing before the delivery to the customer.

In line with the agreement signed in 2012 Izhorskiye Zavody manufacture heavy reactor equipment for the integrated installation of the currently being under construction hydrocracking complex at Novokuibyshevsk refinery. Reactor vessels are produced of forged shell rings with internal anticorrosive plating. The plating is made of 347SS steel.

All the reactor equipment will be manufactured and delivered to the construction site of the customer by the end of 2013.

The equipment includes two VGO hydrocracking reactors, two reactors of the first and second stages hydrocracking and hydrotreater unit. All the vessels are manufactured with internals. General delivery volume is more than 3,000 tons.

The developer and the license grantor for the base project is Chevron Lummus Global LLC (CLG), one of the largest energy companies worldwide.
