OREANDA-NEWS. JSC RusHydro (ticker symbol: MOEX, LSE: HYDR; OTCQX: RSHYY) announces that the first phase of the construction and installation of high voltage equipment of the Boguchanskaya hydropower plant that enables it to transmit electricity to the united national grid of Russia to power output scheme has been completed.

The first phase of Boguchanskaya hydropower plant power output scheme consists of 500 kV open transition point based on SF6 switching equipment, 500 kV substation Kamala-1, 500kV substation Angara, 500kV air line connecting substation Angara and Kamala-1, 500kV air line connecting Boguchaskaya HPP and Angara substation.

The Federal Grid Company is completing construction of 500 kV air line connecting Boguchanskaya HPP (located in Krasnoyarsky Krai) and Taishet region of Irkutsk oblast. Commissioning of this line will not only reduce water spills by the Boguchaskaya HPP, but also will improve reliability of transmission between Kranoyarsk and Irkutsk regions and enable transmission to Taishet aluminum smelter under construction and other consumers in the Western part of Irkutsk oblast. Commissioning of the line is expected ahead of schedule.

At the moment of launch of the first units of Boguchanskaya HPP, their output was channeled via 220 kV line built under the Federal Grid Company capex progam. Altogether, since 2009 the Federal Grid Company has built and renovated in the lower Angara region six facilities with total worth of RUR 11 bln, including 604.2 kilometers of lines and 625 MVA of transformer capacity.
