OREANDA-NEWS. The 60 shareholders of Voimaosakeyhtio SF have decided about their continuation in Fennovoima nuclear power plant project. The shareholders responded to the investment decision proposal given for them in early September, aiming at starting the operation of the nuclear power plant in Pyhajoki in 2024.
 
At the moment, Voimaosakeyhtio SF owns Fennovoima completely. 45 of the shareholders of Voimaosakeyhtio SF have decided to continue in Fennovoima. All decisions are conditional for the time being, as the negotiations between Fennovoima and ROSATOM are ongoing.
 
Energy generated by Hanhikivi-1 NPP, will be allocated among the participants of the project - Fennovoima shareholders. As result of taken decisions, 84 per cent of the energy production of the Fennovoima's nuclear power plant is now reserved. The Voimaosakeyhtio SF shareholder companies that continue in the project have reserved slightly over half (50,28%) of the production of the 1200 MW nuclear power plant planned by Fennovoima. The planned ownership of ROSATOM is a third (34%) of Fennovoima.

Companies that decided to give up their share are: Oy AGA Ab, Boliden Harjavalta Oy, Boliden Kokkola Oy, Componenta Oyj, Esse Elektro-Kraft Ab, Etela-Savon Energia Oy, Finnfoam Oy (4Capes Oy), Ita-Lapin Energia Oy, Kemin Energia Oy, Kotkan Energia Oy, Ovako Imatra Oy Ab, Rovakairan Tuotanto Oy, Tammisaaren Energia, Vaasan Sahko Oy and Vimpelin Voima Oy.
 
During the next weeks and months Voimaosakeyhtio SF carries out internally ownership rearrangements: some of the shareholders that decided to continue want to increase their share, some want to decrease it. Voimaosakeyhtio SF is also assessing taking possible new owners to the project. The Finnish company Voimaosakeyhtio SF will remain the main owner of Fennovoima.
