OREANDA-NEWS. December 12, 2013. Workers of the Antimonopoly Service of the Republic of Ecuador underwent training at the Central Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) under the framework of developing cooperation between the antimonopoly authorities of FAS and Ecuador.

During the training, the officers of the competition authority of Ecuador met with representatives of structural units of FAS. The Head of FAS Department for International Economic Cooperation, Lesya Davydova, discussed the work and structure of Russian competition authority, priority areas of its international activities and the problems today’s global integration, which are impossible to resolve without engaging the instrument of international cooperation.

Deputy Head of FAS Legal Department, Denis Gavrilov, in his turn, informed the Ecuadorian colleagues about developments in the antimonopoly law of the Russian Federation. They were especially interested in the methodology of determining liability in cases on cartels, abusing market dominance and unfair competition. The parties also discussed new FAS initiatives towards changing the antimonopoly law.

The Head of FAS Anti-Cartel Department Andrey Tenischev informed Ecuadorian colleagues about specifics of investigating and proving cartels; and then they also shared their experience of investigating collusions.

At the end of the training, the Head of FAS Department for Control over Transport and Communications, Dmitry Routenberg, presented FAS efforts in investigating antimonopoly violations in the field of over transport and communications.

“The training was organized in the format of bilateral information exchange, so it was interesting and useful not only for the colleagues from Ecuador but also for FAS officers”, summed up the Head of FAS Department for International Economic Cooperation, Lesya Davydova.
