OREANDA-NEWS. December 13, 2013. Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov has commissioned the Ministry of Social Policy to ensure timely fulfillment of increased social payments. He announced during a session of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

“I instruct the Ministry of Social Policy to take unconditionally and timely all necessary organizational measures aiming to ensure increased social payments. All calculations and payments are under control by the Government,” he said.

The Head of the Government reminded that from December 1, 2013, there were to be increased rates of state social standards, the minimal salary, the subsistence minimum and respectively connected with the mentioned articles social and pension payments.

So, Mykola Azarov informed that assistance for bearing the first child had been increased by UAH 1 thousand 800 up to UAH 30 thousand 960, the second child – by UAH 3 thousand 600 up to UAH 61 thousand 920, the third and every next child – by UAH 7 thousand 200 up to UAH 123 thousand 840. UAH 120 – 150 monthly, depending on the age of a child, is an increase paid for children under guardianship or custody and also orphaned children and children deprived of parental care.

Moreover, according to him, there are increased monthly payments for invalids from birth, disabled children and children with disabilities, if their diseases are connected to Chornobyl accident. Depending on the age and illnesses the payments will amount UAH 1 thousand 180 up to UAH 2 thousand 282.

The Premier informed monthly payments for single mothers had been increased. So, depending on the age of a child its minimal rate is around UAH 365 monthly and the maximal – up to UAH 609. It should be noted in 2009 such payments were twice lower.

Apart from that, according to Mykola Azarov, the state social assistance for low-income families is improved as well. So, in December the minimal payment will amount UAH 774 for a child aged under 6, UAH 964 – for a child aged from 6 to 18. I call to attention: the numbers are not large, but the mentioned payments are threefold higher than in December of 2009.

Besides, from December 1, 2013, the level of minimal salary and minimal age pension are to be upped. So, as compared to December of last year the minimal salary will increase by UAH 84 (up to UAH 1 thousand 218), minimal pension – by UAH 65 (up to UAH 949). Respectively, allowances, extra pensions and other payments, that are calculated taking into account the subsistence minimum, are to be increased.
