OREANDA-NEWS. June 06, 2014. The reconstruction project of WWTP Bortnicheskoy will be implemented as soon as possible, stated First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Vitalii Yarema during a field working conference on the further implementation of the project of comprehensive reconstruction of WWTP Bortnicheskoy wastewater facilities.

The meeting was also attended by Vice Prime Minister - Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utility of Ukraine Volodymyr Hroisman and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine Mr. Toichi Sakata.

"Bortnicheskoy aeration station is one of the most dangerous environmental facilities located in Kyiv. Today, it is in a state that at any moment can lead to environmental disaster," emphasized Vitalii Yarema and expressed the hope that as soon as possible will be built a modern, clean aeration station.

Vitalii Yarema explained that Japan intends to finance the project worth USD 1.1 billion on very profitable loan conditions for Ukraine (credit granted for 40 years at 0.1% with the possibility of deferred payment for 10 years). Moreover, the loan conditions also provide for the use of the newest Japanese technology and equipment.

Vitalii Yarema informed that work on the reconstruction of the station is going to begin in September. According to him, the Ukrainian side is extremely interested in it. "It is important that construction within the project will be implemented by Ukrainian construction companies that will create new jobs," underlined the official.
