OREANDA-NEWS. June 16, 2014. Deputy Head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service in the Orenburg region (Orenburg OFAS Russia), Alexander Shlychkov, made this statement in an interview to one of Orenburg City TV channels.

Earlier, representatives of several regional mass media requested Orenburg OFAS Russia to verify legitimacy of the actions undertaken by the Mayor of Mednogorsk, Dmitry Sadovenko. The interest of mass media to the actions of the Town Mayor was caused by a copy of a letter of the town mayor published in social networks.

In his letter, Dmitry Sadovenko calls upon the heads of Mednogorsk companies to intensify the process of subscription (both corporate and household – executed by the workers for themselves) for some print media, including “Mednogorsky Rabochii”, “Orenburzhie” and “Yuzhny Ural” newspapers.

The Town Mayor also asks to find the funds to subscribe companies’ veterans for the publications. According to Dmitry Sadovenko, “successful subscription campaign will reduce circulation losses and give editorial boards time to improve and expand alternative delivery of newspapers”.

“Orenburg OFAS intends to carefully analyze the situation”, pointed out Alexander Shlychkov. If signs of a violation of the antimonopoly law were revealed, we shall undertake measures under the framework of fiscal control activities”.
