OREANDA-NEWS. November 17, 2014. The Association of Independent Directors and the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, in partnership with PwC and the Moscow Stock Exchange, have compiled a ranking of corporate governance directors for 2014.

Four representatives from Cherkizovo Group were included this list of top professionals:

Igor Babaev, Chairman of the Board of Directors — 25 Best Chairmen of the Board of Directors;
Vitaly Podolsky, Independent Director — 50 Best Independent Directors;

Marcus James Rhodes, Independent Director — 50 Best Independent Directors;

Valery Kuprienko, Corporate Secretary of the Board of Directors — 25 Best Corporate Governance Directors/Corporate Secretaries.

The lists of best managers were approved by an Expert Advisory Board that included representatives of government bodies, experts from business and investment communities, as well as past winners of the award. Senior managers from more than 160 Russian companies vied for spots in the rankings.

As part of the process of compiling the rankings, data about the candidates’ cumulative experience in boards of directors and their practical management records in companies that have a Russian/international listing was analysed; the review also took into account the results of active work in companies with high capitalisation.

In addition, candidates’ contributions to the development of corporate governance in Russia were considered. For corporate secretaries, experience in the position was weighed. The results of the analysis of these indicators were verified by PwC on a sample basis.
