OREANDA-NEWS. December 11, 2014. Prime Minister Karim Massimov has held Government session in the selector mode, where price setting issues for oil products have been considered.

Energy Minister Vladimir Shkolnik said about change of maximum retail prices on some brands of gasoline.

"We know that there is a strong change in the world price of oil now. In this regard, the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of National Economy prepared a preliminary calculation of maximum retail selling prices for the coming period. An order to establish a new price of gasoline AI-92, AI-93 will be signed, the price will be 115 tenge per liter. The price of gasoline AI-80 remains unchanged at 89 tenge per liter," Vladimir Shkolnik said.

Minister also appealed to the Akims with a request for "taking a number of measures to stabilize the market in terms of uninterrupted existing oil product sales."

Along with this, Minister considers reasonable "to bind the cost of oil at the Kazakh gas station to the Russian ones."

According to Shkolnik, "it is very important to stabilize the domestic market and to prevent speculation and instability."

"It will help to make operational decisions on the level of maximum retail prices in Kazakhstan in case of change of prices for gasoline and diesel fuel at Russian producers. And this efficiency will solve two important problems for our economy. The first – to stop flow of fuel from Kazakhstan to the Russian Federation, the second - to create an acceptable level of maximum retail prices in order to maintain the necessary import," Minister concluded.
