Belarus Reports 0.6% Inflation Growth in Nov 2014, 15.5% in Jan-Nov
OREANDA-NEWS. Belarus was there to witness a 0.6% inflation growth in November 2014, the National Statistics Committee (Belstat) said in a press-release.
Consumer prices grew 15.5% in January-November 2014.
Food prices grew 0.4% month on month in November 2014 (up 18.2% in Jan-Nov), including the price of foodstuffs - up 0.4% (up 16.8%), Belstat informed.
The price of the following food products went down month on month in November: meat and poultry - down 0.4% (+33.7% in Jan-Nov); fish and seafood - down 0.8% (+16.4%); butter - down 0.2% (+12.3%); pasta - down 0.3% (+13.5%); fruits - down 1.9% (+4.8%).
The price of the following foodstuffs went up month on month in November: vegetables - up 2.3% (down 11.2% in Jan-Nov); bread and bakery goods - up 0.6% (+4.5%); confectionery goods - up 2% (+12.8%); tobaccos - up 0.5% (+21.5%); alcoholic beverages - up 0.03% (+22.7%); cheeses - up 0.3% (+16.8%); cereals - up 3% (+15.6%); milk and dairy products - up 0.4% (+9.3%); sausage and smoked meat - up 0.5% (+21.4%), tea - up 1% (+18%); potatoes - up 4.7% (down 2.1%); sugar - up 0.1% (+23.4%).
Non-food prices grew 0.3% on the month in November 2014 (up 7.5% in Jan-Nov).
The price of the following non-food products went down month on month in November: footwear - down 0.1% (+1.1% Jan-Nov); stationary goods - down 0.02% (+14.1%).
The price of the following non-food products went up in November: medications - up 2.4% (+24.1%); clothes - up 0.2% (+4%); construction materials - up 0.3% (+6.5%); perfumery goods - up 0.8% (+9.3%); fabrics - up 1% (+5.5%); detergents - up 0.9% (+12.9%); furniture - up 0.6% (+5%).
The prices of services grew 1.9% on the month in November 2014 (up 24.9% in Jan-Nov).
Utility tariffs grew 2.6% on the month in November 2014 (up 33.4% in Jan-Nov).
Passenger transportation tariffs reduced 0.5% on the month in November 2014 (up 18.5%), medical services - up 2.3% (up 28.9%), telecom services - up 3.2% (up 22.5%).
Belarus' government originally expected inflation growth to stay under 11% in 2014, however in April the forecast was downplayed to 16-17%. Belarus' consumer prices grew 16.5% in 2013, while the government's forecast stood at 12%.
