OREANDA-NEWS. January 19, 2015. CEO and Chairman of the Board of Sberbank Herman Gref took part in the panel discussion “A Healthy Future Economy” during the first day of the VI Gaidar Forum.

Herman Gref highlighted three factors that have led to today’s principally new economic situation: structural slowdown of the economy, geopolitical situation around Russia and falling oil prices.

“Today the most rational policy, to which there is no alternative in my opinion, is to reduce the current level of spending and maximize efficiency, as well as a radical change in economic policy aimed at restoring the trust of business,” - said Herman Gref.

The Gaidar Forum is an intellectual platform and meeting point for world leading scientists and politicians and influential representatives of global financial circles and the business elite. In 2015 the Forum took place on January 14-16 and was dedicated to the topic “Russia and the World: New Dimensions”.
