OREANDA-NEWS. February 19, 2015. India is set to harvest 257.07 million tonnes of grains in the current crop year, showed a farm ministry forecast on Wednesday, a 3.2 percent drop from the previous year's record produce.

India produced a record 265.57 million tonnes of grains in 2013/14.

The projected drop in output for the current crop year to June has been attributed to a 12 percent gap in last year's monsoon rainfall.
