OREANDA-NEWS. Abu Dhabi Airports launched today its annual safety awareness campaign this week, with the aim of increasing awareness of aviation safety standards and best practice among its employees and airport' stakeholders.

The campaign is being held under the slogan 'Giving safety your full attention'. The programme of activities consists of a two-day exhibition dedicated to promoting airside safety, occupational health and environmental protection in the workplace. In addition, health check-up and awareness sessions are being provided by health and safety specialists, and lectures on a variety of other related topics, such as dealing with dangerous goods, managing heat stress, runway safety, the role of regulators and employee wellness management. Staff will be provided with advice and training on managing potential risks and identifying warning signs.

Commenting on the occasion, Eng. Ahmad Al Haddabi, Chief Operations Officer at Abu Dhabi Airports said: "Abu Dhabi Airports is committed to ensuring the good health, safety and welfare of all of its employees, contractors, partners and travelers. Through these initiatives, we aim to promote a culture of safety at our airports and encourage our employees to consider their own personal safety as well as their obligations to provide a safe environment for all airport users. This can be effectively achieved by creating a forum for information sharing, innovative thinking and knowledge exchange on airport-specific safety measures."

The campaign is supported by the airport's Airside Safety - Operations department, Planning and Development, Air Navigation Services/GAL, ESQA, Etihad Airways, General Civil Aviation Authority, Abu Dhabi Health Services, Gulf Centre for Aviation Studies, Abu Dhabi Customs, Abu Dhabi Police and Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC).
