Nova Chemical is bringing a unit at its Corunna olefins plant near Sarnia, Ontario, offline following a small fire, according to the company. Visible heavy flaring is expected and it is not known how long the unit will be out of service, according to the company.

Nova personnel extinguished the fire located at the plant's utilities unit. No injuries were reported.

Nova operates an ethylene cracker at the facility capable of processing up to 1.8bn lb/yr of ethylene and up to 2bn lb/yr of co-products.
