OREANDA-NEWS. Four years ago, the top managers of car plants that were built in Russia by foreign companies said that it is not so profitable to assemble cars in our country. So, one of the top managers of PSA Peugeot Citroen and Mitsubishi Motors in Kaluga told that the production cost of the car at European plants is cheaper by 5% than in Russia and in China and Korea – by 15-20%.

Today, however, thanks to the devaluation of Ruble the situation has changed radically, wrote the newspaper "Vedomosti". The merit of cheapened ruble is that the cost of production in the Russian car industry became lower. In particular, labor costs per 1 car today in euro terms is approximately 230 Euros (17 000). According to the analytic agency JD Power & Associates, the same indicator in the plants of Romania – is about 400 Euros, in Turkey - about 300 Euros.
