OREANDA-NEWS. September 11, 2015. At the end of August of 2015, Russian dealers of Toyota sold 1738 SUVs Land Cruiser Prado, which was 29% of total sales in the segment of mid-size SUVs. It is the best result in the history of sales of model in Russia, informed the press service of "Toyota Motor".

Growth of sales of Toyota Land Cruiser Prado by 32% in August amid a general market decline was contributed first of all by the successful launch of the updated SUV, which took place in the second half of the month. The appearance of the updated model, for which it was developed specially turbo diesel engine of new-generation of series GD, led to increased interest of Russian customers to Toyota Land Cruiser Prado. Increased demand for Toyota cars in the SUV segment was contributed also by the timely and special price offer for the purchase of popular cars Toyota, including Land Cruiser Prado of the previous generation.

In the period from January to August of 2015 Toyota showed dynamics better than segments, in which the brand is represented, which is provided by the unique mass-premium positioning of the brand Toyota. Top sales figures from January to August of 2015 were shown by the bestsellers of Toyota, including the traditionally popular in Russia model Toyota Camry, Toyota RAV4 and Toyota Land Cruiser Prado.

Growing interest in Toyota cars in August was provided among other things by the systematic policy of the brand to upgrade the model range of Toyota in Russia throughout 2015.

At the end of eight months of 2015, Russian dealers of Toyota have sold 65,568 cars (-36%). The best-seller of the brand is the business sedan Toyota Camry, sales of which 21,140 vehicles (-4.1%). The second place by sales is occupied by a crossover Toyota RAV4, which was sold in the amount of 19,861 units (-17.5%).
