OREANDA-NEWS. The Swiss Institute for ICT Education—ICT-Berufsbildung Schweiz—honored Cognizant with the Swiss ICT Education and Training Award 2015 for providing high-quality IT education and training to talent in Switzerland.

The annual awards program recognizes Swiss-based organizations that are dedicated to the ongoing education and training of young professionals, thus making a significant contribution to the future of the IT industry in Switzerland.

At a glittering awards ceremony, held on September 23, 2015, in Olten, Switzerland, and attended by more than 500 distinguished guests, the award was received on behalf of Cognizant by Stefan Metzger, the company’s Country Managing Director in Switzerland.

The award committee commended Cognizant’s on-the-job IT education initiatives in general and the company’s comprehensive apprenticeship program in particular as a role model for the industry. It lauded Cognizant as one of the few large global players that were contributing actively to the ICT education system in Switzerland.

Cognizant offers several apprenticeship opportunities to young professionals interested in IT careers. Cognizant also runs several on-the-job IT education programs and has partnered with select universities to provide career advice and guidance to college graduates and young professionals by way of academic seminars.
