Sberbank CIB Starts Accepting Applications for Internship Programme
OREANDA-NEWS. Sberbank CIB is launching its 2016 summer internship programme Head Start@Sberbank CIB. The selection stages will begin on April 4 and the internship will take place from July 1 to August 31.
This year, the internship will be held for the first time at CIB divisions in Regional Banks, as well as in Moscow. This means that in addition to final year students and graduates from Moscow universities, who traditionally take internships at the company's Moscow office, their peers in Russia's regions will also be able to participate.
The programme is open to graduates and final year students from leading universities who perform well in the selection stages and are focused on building a career in the financial industry. You can find detailed information about the selection stages and fill in an application form on the Career section of Sberbank CIB's website. Applications will be accepted until March 31, inclusively.
The programme's selection stages feature a number of tests, including an English proficiency test, participation in a business case, and an interview. Candidates who pass these tests will be enrolled in the Summer Class - an educational programme that will introduce the future interns to Sberbank CIB's business and provide them with the knowledge needed for a successful internship. This evaluation and training system, which is a traditional part of the programme, lets candidates broaden their understanding of the financial market and decide on the division where they would like to take the internship.
Each year the internship programme focuses on a relevant non-financial topic; this year it will be "Technology that is Changing the World".
Commenting on the choice of topic and aims of the internship, Maria Merkulova, Head of Review, Learning & Development Department in Sberbank CIB's HR Department, said: "Changes are taking place and technology is developing in business and other areas of life at an increasingly fast speed, and it is obvious that companies should be ready for the challenges this presents. Our multi-year experience of holding internships has convinced us that many of today's graduates meet the high demands of our business and are ready for the challenges of the modern world - they are fast learners, open to new knowledge, tech-savvy, understand their professional goals, strive to be recognised and are ready to work hard. These are key qualities that help the interns to perform well and bring much needed speed, flexibility and quick decision-making to the team”.
Around 30% of last year's interns are currently working at Sberbank CIB and making a significant contribution to our business results. This year we are extending the geography of the programme in order to select the best students for CIB divisions at Sberbank's Regional Banks.
As in previous years, it will be possible to undergo the internship in CIB's business units (Global Markets Department, Merchant Banking and Advisory Department, Client Management Department, Loans Department, Trade Finance and Correspondence Relations Division) and support units.
