As part of the launch of the new crossover Creta at the end of January of 2016 Russian plant of Hyundai Motor Company restarted the production line of the plant after a large-scale modernization within the preparation for the launch of new car models. Investments in the project of plant development are $ 100 million, according to "Hyundai Motor CIS" press service.

Modernization has touched all the shops of "Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Rus" plant. Thus, it was installed the test press for testing of dies, needed for the production of new vehicle’ panels in the stamping shop. Thus, the process of preparing for the launch of new models will not interfere with the current production work of the plant. The welding shop received more than 50 robots in addition to the 120 existing robots, as well as several of rolling presses. Installation of new equipment is needed to create a highly durable body of the new compact SUV, as well as to improve the efficiency of manufacturing processes. There were installed additional 2 robots in the shop on the color at the sealant coating station. In the assembly shop it was remodeled a conveyor section: now the front and rear suspensions are mounted on cars at the same time, which will be especially important in the production version of the all-wheel drive crossover Hyundai Creta.

As it was reported previously, the plant will begin the mass production of Hyundai Creta in the third quarter of 2016. The new model will be produced on the same production line of plant with Hyundai Solaris. In the Russian market Hyundai Creta will be presented with engines 1.6 and 2.0 l., with front-wheel and all-wheel drive. The official presentation of the model will take place at the Moscow International Motor Show.
