OREANDA-NEWS  AvtoVAZ has increased Lada production by 66% in the first four months of this year compared to the same period last year, producing more than 160,000 cars, according to Maxim Sokolov, the president of the company.

"In the first four months, we produced more than 160,000 vehicles, an increase of 66% over the same period last year," the top manager said at a parliamentary hearing in the Federation Council on the automotive industry.

AvtoVAZ operates production facilities in Tolyatti and Izhevsk, and in mid-May 2022, the French company Renault transferred its 67.69% stake in AvtoVAZ to the government of the Russian Federation. The brand now consists of four vehicle families: Vesta, Largus, Granta, and Niva. Lada sales in 2023 totaled 352,600 units, an increase of nearly two times.
