OREANDA-NEWS China has strengthened export controls on rare earth metals and related goods, according to documents released by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce on Thursday.

On Thursday, the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China published two documents on export control measures for rare earth metals. According to the documents, in particular, foreign organizations and individuals must now obtain a license to export dual-use goods before exporting certain rare earth-related goods to countries and regions outside of China.

It is noted that applications for the export of goods intended or likely intended for purposes such as the design, development, production or use of weapons of mass destruction and their means of delivery, terrorist purposes, military use or strengthening military capabilities will not be approved.
