OREANDA-NEWS Chinese technology company UBTech Robotics plans to launch mass production of industrial humanoid robots for enterprises by the end of the year, the company said.
"UBTech Robotics, based in Shenzhen, plans to start mass production of humanoid robots by the end of this year," writes the South China Morning Post, citing UBTech chief brand officer Michael Tam.
According to Tam, in 2025, UBTech will supply about 500-1000 units of industrial humanoid robots of the Walker S series to customers and partners, including, in particular, automakers, Foxconn and logistics company SF Express.
As Tam noted, UBTech's ultimate goal is to "introduce humanoid robots into every family," but at the current stage, the company's main focus is industrial robots.
The manager stressed that factories need humanoid robots, "which will help them solve the problem of labor shortage." He noted that more than 60% of the humanoid robots that the company plans to deliver this year will be the new Walker S2 model, which will be released in the second quarter of this year and will have a lighter and more durable design than the current version of the S1. In addition, UBTech plans to introduce an even newer version, the Walker S3, by the end of the year.
UBTech was founded in 2012, and today it is one of the largest players in the robotics market in China. In October 2024, the company launched the production of industrial humanoid robots Walker S1.
