OREANDA-NEWS  Dairy production in Russia is in limbo. This situation arose due to dependence on imported enzymes. This was announced on Thursday, February 2, by Sergey Bachin, who is the founder of the agricultural holding "AgriVolga".

"Consumers probably don't even fully understand that if Europe suddenly imposes sanctions on dairy ferments, then we won't have sour cream in Russia. We will not be able to produce it," he stressed.

Bachin explained that today there are simply no opportunities for self-sufficiency in the country. In Uglich, the necessary enzymes are produced at an experimental biofactory, several local laboratories are also engaged in this — however, the capacity in a critical situation will be enough to cover a maximum of 10% of demand in the dairy industry.
