OREANDA-NEWS Experts have named products whose supplies to Russia may be complicated due to sanctions. Most of the food that is not made on the territory of the Russian Federation is supplied by countries that have not imposed restrictions. However, some goods from Europe — for example, fish and alcohol - fall into the risk zone. Experts believe that this market will be stormy due to the weakening of the ruble, sanctions and difficulties in logistics.

A number of products that are not grown in Russia (coffee, tea, cocoa, citrus fruits) will not disappear from the market: their producing countries have not announced sanctions against the Russian Federation.

The head of the executive Committee of the National Meat Association, Sergei Yushin, said that enough beef is imported to Russia. Pork and poultry meat are produced enough in Russia itself. To stabilize prices, the government has already zeroed import duties on 200,000 tons of beef and 100,000 tons of pork by the end of the year.

The most difficult situation in the country with fruit: Russia produces only 40% of the demand. In 2021, the record fruit harvest in Russia amounted to about 1.5 million tons, and the volume of imports of fresh fruits alone (excluding nuts, dried fruits and processed products) reached 5.45 million tons, said Irina Koziy, Director General of the Berry Union. There are about 15% of fresh Russian fruits suitable for sale on the market. This is due to the fact that 40% of the grown fruits and berries are sent for processing. It will take at least 4-5 years to plant new orchards and get a new crop. The CIS countries will not be able to compensate for the drawdown of imports either — now they do not have the right amount of fruit.

Auchan, Atak, OK and Magnit store chains will limit margins on four categories of goods - bread, dairy products, sugar and vegetables of the "borscht set" to a level of 5%.
