OREANDA-NEWS  Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Russians on the upcoming Heroes of the Fatherland Day, which will be celebrated in the country on December 9, and noted that at meetings with people he feels their attitude and desire for solidarity.

Happy holiday, happy Heroes of the Fatherland Day," Putin said on Friday during the ceremony of awarding the Gold Star medal to the Heroes of Russia in the Kremlin.

According to him, today the "feat of arms and labor valor, the firmness of character of our people and the cohesion of the entire Russian society" are inseparable and nourish each other. The citizens of the country, he noted, "are united by a sincere, heartfelt love for Russia, it helps to move forward, do even more, overcome any obstacles."

"Millions of Russian citizens are determined to stand with the country and act as they should and fairly in the face of challenges. I know, I see it at meetings with our people, I feel their attitude, their desire for solidarity," Putin said.
