OREANDA-NEWS  The United Engine Corporation has developed Russian analogues of foreign engines for helicopters, said the head of the UEC, Alexander Grachev.

"Today, within the framework of civil aviation, we have completely replaced the French and American engines on helicopters," he said, speaking at the congress of the Union of Machine Builders.

Grachev added that the VK-650 engine, created by UEC, is used on three helicopters: Ansat, Mi-34 and Ka-226. They will be delivered starting next year.

As Vladimir Putin noted, Russia is strengthening technological sovereignty and is not going to shut itself in. It is important to independently produce critical products, including airplanes, robots, digital platforms, and AI technologies.
The President stressed that Russian science has a huge potential for development, which will allow it to have the keys to all industries important for the economy and security.
