OREANDA-NEWS By the end of 2026, the production of metal structures in Russia will decrease by ten percent due to the ongoing recession in steel construction. This was stated by Dmitry Yeremeyev, Director of Market Demand Development at Evraz, RIA Novosti reports.

According to him, there is no reversal to growth in the industry, so the trend that began in the second half of 2025 cannot be reversed.

The company's representative stressed that the number of frozen projects in steel construction is not decreasing, investment growth is not visible, so there are no special reasons to make optimistic forecasts. However, targeted projects with government support can have a certain positive effect.

Last year, the consumption of rolled metal for the production of metal structures in Russia fell by 12 percent, to 5.3 million tons.

Earlier it was reported that the net loss under RAS (Russian accounting standard) of Severstal, one of the largest steel and mining companies in Russia, amounted to 4.655 billion rubles in the first half of the year. A year earlier, during the same period, the manufacturer made a profit of 43.57 billion rubles.
