OREANDA-NEWS. In Russia, four technological platforms will be created in 2022 for the rapid development of safe and effective vaccines against new infections, said Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova.

Golikova stated this at a meeting on the socio-economic development of the Russian Federation. According to her, the work will be carried out as part of the Sanitary Shield federal project, the purpose of which is to preserve human health and protect against infectious threats.

Golikova said that as part of the project in 2021, seven express tests were developed to diagnose five infections, four of them have already been put into production, two are at the implementation stage. The capacity of PCR diagnostic centers was increased, which made it possible to reduce the time for testing tests for coronavirus. Rules for the functioning of industries in the context of epidemics were also developed.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, this work will be continued in 2022. "We will expand the network to study dangerous infections in other regions of the world in order to better and faster predict epidemics," Golikova said.

By 2024, according to the Deputy Prime Minister, already 80% of the population will be able to get tested for infections within 24 hours, rapid tests for 43 infections will be introduced, which will speed up the provision of assistance.

According to the presentation to the report published by the office of the Deputy Prime Minister, in accordance with the roadmap of the Sanitary Shield project, by 2024, the prevented damage from acute infectious diseases due to the implementation of the project will amount to 40 billion rubles a year. A 2% decrease in the number of infectious diseases is predicted.

In addition, by 2024 it is planned that in the event of new infections, test systems for their determination will be created in four days, and vaccines will be developed in four months.
