So, 2.6 million tons were caught in the Far Eastern basin, which is 17.4% more than last year. In particular, pollock was extracted 1.4 million tons (88.5 thousand tons more), sardines, iwasi - 71.1 thousand tons (32.7 thousand tons more), mackerel - 1.04 thousand tons (0.4 thousand tons more). At the same time, the catch of cod decreased by 15.6 thousand tons, to 85.2 thousand tons, herring - by 36.8 thousand tons, to 249.9 thousand tons, flounder - by 0.43 thousand tons, to 52 thousand tons.

In the Northern Basin, the catch decreased by 12.4%, to 310.1 thousand tons. Cod produced 187.3 thousand tons (53.1 thousand tons less), haddock - 52.7 thousand tons (2.6 thousand tons more), capelin - 23 thousand tons (0.4 thousand tons more).

55.8 thousand tons of fish were extracted in the Western Basin, which is 9.3% more than a year ago. In the sprat fishery, the catch was 32 thousand tons (2.7 thousand tons more), Baltic herring - 18.2 thousand tons (2.2 thousand tons more).

Fishermen of the Azov-Black Sea basin caught 23.6 thousand tons (15.8% less), Volga-Caspian - 55 thousand tons (14.7% more). The famous Caspian sprat produced 24.8 thousand tons (6.3 thousand tons more).

In the exclusive economic zones of foreign states, convention areas and the open part of the World Ocean, Russian fishermen caught 325.6 thousand tons of aquatic biological resources, which is 5.5% higher than in the same period of 2022. Including 161.3 thousand tons (15.9% less) were extracted in the zones of foreign states, 164.3 thousand tons (40.5% more) were extracted in the convention areas and the open part of the World Ocean.
