OREANDA-NEWS  Construction of a plant has begun in Russia that will meet the needs of local customers in silicone implants for breasts and buttocks. The need for the project arose against the background of a shortage of products due to Western sanctions, the Telegram channel SHOT reports.

Production is planned to begin in 2025-2026. It is not yet known where the work is being carried out. In the meantime, against the background of refusals to do business with Russians, the issue of supplies is being solved thanks to parallel imports.

According to journalists, now the number of liposuction operations has decreased. This is also due to the fact that the equipment requires regular replacement of consumables and maintenance, which is now denied in the West.

The complete disappearance in Russia of implants for operations to change the shape of the buttocks became known in May 2022. Plastic surgeons then explained that such operations were not very popular, so silicone implants for the buttocks simply stopped being imported due to their high cost and logistical difficulties.
