OREANDA-NEWS  Yakub Zakriev, Deputy Chairman of the Government of Chechnya, Minister of Agriculture of the Republic, became the General Director of Danone Russia JSC, a subsidiary of the French corporation Danone. The corresponding entry appeared in the SPARK-Interfax database.

The Chechen Minister of National Policy, Foreign Relations, Press and Information Ahmed Dudayev noted that Zakriev has extensive experience in the most responsible positions in Chechnya. In particular, he was the mayor of Grozny and the head of the administration of the head and government of the republic.

On July 16, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the transfer of the shares of foreign owners in Danone and the Baltika brewing company to the temporary management of Russia. According to the document, shares in LLC "Baltika Brewing Company" and shares of JSC "Danone Russia" are transferred to Rosimushchestvo.

Businessman Taimuraz Bolloev became the President of Baltika. Previously, he headed the company in 1991-2004 as CEO and then president of the company.

In October 2022, Danone announced its intention to withdraw from the Russian market. Investors were offered to buy back from 75 percent of the business, subject to the possibility of asset repurchase.

In turn, the Danish Carlsberg Group corporation, which includes Baltika, announced its withdrawal from the Russian market in March last year.
