OREANDA-NEWS  The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation is considering the possibility of organizing the production of ESP systems in the country responsible for stabilizing the car, Deputy Minister Vasily Shpak told RIA Novosti.

"We are also working on ESP," he said, commenting on the localization of the production of electronic automotive components in the Russian Federation.

Shpak also said that Russian enterprises have already managed to import electronic control units, partially sensors and harness products for the automotive industry. In addition, the production of anti-lock braking systems (ABS) is already being launched in Kostroma, and serial deliveries to Russian automakers will begin on July 1.  Highly localized automakers in the Russian Federation, in particular the auto giant AvtoVAZ, faced a shortage of ABS and ESP systems last year. Subsequently, the authorities decided to introduce a simplified technical regulation, which allowed for the absence of these systems in the manufactured machine, in order to prevent the suspension of conveyors. Simplified rules for the production of cars in the Russian Federation are valid until February 2024, but with a phased return of requirements.
