OREANDA-NEWS By the end of February 2026, the total value of shoe exports from Turkey to Russia has almost doubled compared to the same period in 2025. RIA Novosti reports on a sharp increase in the import of this type of product from a NATO country, citing data from the local statistical service.

During the reporting period, Turkish exporters shipped shoes to Russia totaling 7.5 million dollars. For comparison, in the last month of winter 2025, the figure was at 4.4 million. Thus, in 12 months it has grown by 1.7 times, or by 3.1 million dollars.

Such dynamics allowed Russia to become the second largest importer of shoes from the Mediterranean country, its share in the structure of Turkish exports was 7.8 percent. Only Iraq was higher in the ranking with a score of 8.9 percent, while Italy closed the top 3 (5.4 percent). The top five also included Germany (5.2 percent) and Kazakhstan (3.9 percent).

Fish has recently become another popular Turkish product among Russian importers. So, by the end of last year, the total cost of supplying this type of product from the Mediterranean country to the Russian Federation increased by almost 10 percent and reached 465.6 million dollars. Frozen fish, in particular trout, dorado and sea bass, were in high demand among Russian buyers.
