OREANDA-NEWS  The Russian Embassy in Washington has linked the blocking of the channels of the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company (VGTRK) on YouTube with manifestations of censorship in the United States and attempts to suppress dissent.

The diplomatic mission noted that among the blocked by the video hosting were editorial offices in Rostov-on-Don, Pskov, Vologda and Murmansk.

"This is not the first case of the media platform abusing its almost monopoly position. These steps indicate another attempt to suppress dissent," the embassy said.

They pointed out that the American journalist, former Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson, spoke very clearly about total censorship in the modern United States.

Earlier, Carlson said that the United States administration tried to disrupt his plans to interview Russian President Vladimir Putin. The journalist recalled that freedom of speech is a birthright. It cannot be taken away, regardless of who holds positions in the White House. "But they're trying anyway," he concluded.
