OREANDA-NEWS. Air Products, a world-leading industrial gases company, has been named an Outstanding Service Provider to China Chemical Parks by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation (CPCIF) in recognition of the company’s proven record in supplying domestic chemical parks. As announced yesterday in Wuhan at the 2016 China Chemical Industry and Chemical Park Forum, which over 750 industry government officials and leading companies attended to exchange ideas on the future of China’s chemical parks and chemical industry, Air Products is the only industrial gases provider among the 10 companies who won this award.

Organized by CPCIF, a non-profit government thinktank for the industry’s management, the award recognizes companies who provide excellent services to chemical parks and are competitive in areas including safety records and environmental performance. Endorsement by chemical parks is a key selection factor.

Air Products has been supporting the global petrochemical industry for over 70 years, serving in roles from chemical park gases supply advisor to investor to operator. The company has abundant experience in building and operating large gas supply pipeline networks safely to serve multiple customers. It is now running the world’s largest pipeline network along the U.S. Gulf Coast. The 1,000 kilometer pipeline stretches from the Houston Ship Channel in Texas to New Orleans, Louisiana, supplying hydrogen from 22 plants to refineries and the petrochemical industry. On the U.S. West Coast, Air Products operates a pipeline system in Silicon Valley, California, that provides major semiconductor manufacturers with reliable high-volume nitrogen supply.

In China, Air Products has also established a solid position in the chemical industry. It has built gas supply pipeline systems at leading industrial parks in Nanjing and Tianjin, and serves a diverse group of customers from oil refiners to various petrochemical companies in the parks. As a leading integrated gases supplier in Nanjing Chemical Industry Park, Air Products supplies over 30 companies there, as well as other liquid gases customers in Nanjing. In January 2016, the company signed a framework agreement with Dalian Xizhong Island Petrochemical Park, one of China’s seven refinery and petrochemical bases, to become the sole industrial gases supplier for companies in the park.

“We are honored to be the only industrial gases company to receive this prestigious award. It is a testament to our strong expertise, integrated solutions and excellent customer service contributing to the local chemical parks and clusters,” said Saw Choon Seong, China president, Industrial Gases, Air Products. “It is great to see that our integrated gases supply solutions and innovative gases applications support the sustainability initiatives of China’s chemical parks as we help our customers improve productivity, safety and environmental performance. We will continue to leverage our deep industry know-how to support the transformation and upgrade of chemical parks and fulfill our sustainability target under the the country’s 13th Five-year Plan.”

At the Wuhan Forum, Air Products shared its insights and global experience in chemical park infrastructure. The company advocates an integrated design for public utilities inside chemical parks, including industrial gases supply and wastewater treatment, in order to achieve management efficiency, synergy and resource savings. Air Products offers integrated gases supply solutions, including centralized gas supply from large air separation units and efficient gas delivery via pipelines, tankers, cylinders or other supply models to meet various customer needs. Air Products’ innovative and sustainable applications for the petrochemical industry, such as Halia® wastewater treatment technology, Cryo-condap® VOC recovery solution, and oxyfuel enrichment technology for sulfur recovery, were also featured at the Forum.
