OREANDA-NEWS  Russia has supported the transit of Kazakh oil through the Druzhba oil pipeline to Germany, Kazakh Energy Minister Bolat Akchulakov said.

On December 29, Transneft announced that it had received an application from Kaztransoil for a reserve of additional capacities of the Druzhba oil pipeline for transit to Germany in the amount of 1.2 million tons for the whole of 2023. This information was later confirmed by the Kazakh side. As specified by Transneft, 300 thousand is supposed to be pumped in the first quarter, and the application requires approval from the Ministry of Energy. Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak announced his readiness to support these deliveries.

"We were waiting for official confirmation from colleagues from Russia, a pass through the territory of the Russian Federation, so we have an oral confirmation here," Akchulakov told reporters on the government sidelines.

According to him, Astana does not expect any complications on this issue. "We have never had any big problems with the Russian Federation regarding pumping," the minister explained.
