OREANDA-NEWS The volume of electricity generated in China by the end of 2024 increased by 4.6% to 9.418 trillion kWh, according to the country's State Statistical Office.

This is a record figure, according to Chinese media.

Including generation at thermal power plants increased by 1.5% and amounted to 6.344 trillion kWh. The annual increase was the lowest in seven years.

Production at hydroelectric power plants last year amounted to 1.27 trillion kWh (+10.7%), at nuclear power plants - 444.9 billion kWh (+2.7%), at solar power plants - 419 billion kWh (+28.2%), at wind power plants - 936 billion kWh (+11.1%).

As reported, the volume of electricity generation in China in 2023 increased by 5.2% to 8.9 trillion kWh.
