OREANDA-NEWS  At the beginning of the fourth quarter of 2022, the French energy company Engie initiated arbitration against Gazprom Export due to short supplies of Russian gas.

The company's annual report says that the decision to go to court was taken in order to obtain recognition of Gazprom's failure to fulfill its obligations to Engie, as well as compensation for the losses incurred. In addition, it is reported that the Russian company at the end of the summer of 2022 reduced its deliveries due to disagreements between the parties on the application of agreements.

In November 2022, it was reported that the French company managed to successfully overcome interruptions in gas supplies from Russia. The company is confident that it will be able to smooth out the consequences of the substitution of Russian imports in the coming winter of 2023-2024 thanks to new suppliers and the expected reduction in consumption. She will also be able to achieve the necessary level of stocks in the vaults.
