Europe Admits It will Remain Dependent on Russian Energy Resources
As we said in the previously published RePower EU program, we will depend on carbon fuel from Russia until 2027, he said.
The head of the Department of Economic Cooperation of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Dmitry Birichevsky, expressed the opinion that the rejection of Russian hydrocarbons would lead to serious consequences for the European and world economies. He noted that if Europe, after abandoning Russian oil and gas, establishes supplies with other partners and switches to renewable energy sources, this will be able to replace, at best, only 80% of energy resources.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin sent an instruction to the government to give a directive to Gazprom to change the currency of payments for natural gas in existing contracts for rubles. According to the head of state, the changes will affect only the currency in which subsequent payments will be made.
